Doug Hutchison, 51, who is famous for such roles as Percy Wetmore in The Green Mileand Horace Goodspeed in Lost, has recently married 16-year-old former beauty pageant queen and aspiring country singer Courtney Alexis Stodden.

Magazine reports that the couple got married on May 20 in Las Vegas . Though Hutchison waited for a month before announcing the news on his website, the couple is not trying to hide their 35-year age difference.

"We're aware that our vast age difference is extremely controversial," the couple told E! News through their spokeswoman. "But we're very much in love and want to get the message out there that true love can be ageless."

According to, the Clark County, Nevada Marriage Bureau states that both marriage license applicants must be at least 18. Minors, however, can receive a license if their legal guardian provides consent. This means that one or both of Stodden's parents approved of their daughter's unconventional marriage.
